Gee, sounds like a real quandry. How about editing your post and deleting the expletives, maybe coming up with a better way of expressing your frustration?

Hey fellas! What's up with the langauge! That was one of the things I liked about this forum. I have to hear that stuff all day, I don't want to hear/read it here! Please, It's not hard, watch your lanaguage.

Geez no1 else gets these kind of posts when they cus in there post why me.

Look for Friul or Modelkasten, I believe they make indy track links for the Tiger I. Modelmecca.com is a good place to look.

First suggestion: Edit of profanities.

Second suggestion: Try turning the model into a "junker" in a diorama.

We're just trying to keep it family friendly Modelkid, that's all. We have alot of young members in the forum. It's just a bit classier here than a locker room.

Also give Kaleu's tips a try at www.greatmodels.com or www.rollmodels.com, I find them less expensive.

Mk there is a subtle line between what is acceptable language and what is not. Yes profanity is an occurrence in every day life, but that doesn't mean that everyone will accept it. That line is different for everyone, and whenever you post there will be people that are offended by something you type and others that are not.

The matter in topic is that this is a public forum, visited by both the young and old, the politically biased and the politically impartial, the religious, the agnostics, the athiests, etc, you get the idea. Anyway, what we are all trying to say, is that you need to post only those words that no-one, or only a very, very small minority will be offended by - whether the words relate to profanity, political views, religious beliefs, racial views, etc.

There are other ways to express your feelings. These guys are asking you politely to do it here in a way that will not effect the feelings of others. If you must use a word that may offend, just use the 'Censored' smilie and we will get the drift.

As for the tracks, sorry to hear what happened. We have all done something similar in the past, and really do know how you feel. If your budget stretches to Fruil or Kasten...go for it. Just use a Net search engine to find a supplier close to you - type in Tiger Tracks, hobby and your state as a start and work from there. If not, take a deep breath, start another post, and ask if anyone has some spare rubber babies lying around after they have used their Fruil or Kasten tracks. I'm sure that someone local would oblige if you sprang for the cost of postage.

Yes they do, and in almost all cases they learn form their mistake. Please be considerate of others and those that may not appreciate your colorful adjectives and explitives. There are several demographics represented on this site and participants to match. I would say that regardless of what they do, or how the act, or speak during the day or night, they are mindful of the language they use here. Its just common courtesy.

Fruimodel makes metal tracks, but if you want to try plastic, I think Dragon makes a set for the tiger. I had a similar problem with the wheels and by sheering them off, redrilling and inserting plastic dowel I was able to reattach them without a problem.

A little courtesy here, please. Younger modelers use this site as well. There are a couple of different approaches to your Tiger problem. Just takes some time, ingenuity and effort.

Dude, yes definatelly watch the swearing, but the model, I say put it in mud up to the almost top of the lower haul and then make another tiger only make the next one a bergtiger (recovery vehicle ) trying to pull it out.

Nothing aimed at you in regards to the language, Modelkid... My friends in here have done the job! However, to the wider community, the same kind of language was very recently used in one of Modelnerd's latest topic. Nothing has been done about it yet, but that does not mean that everyone can use bad language in here. We know Dave's away at the moment but maybe it would be useful for the Forum to have a couple of moderators, just to check up on this while Dave's away. After all, we can expect Dave to see everything and devote his entire life to this site (would be cool, though!).

As to your problem, Modelkid, there are plenty of ways to 'fix' the problem, if only by hiding it... Tiger in water? Tiger in factory? Tiger in ice?

This community does a good job of policing itself and letting members know if something was out of line. This is a few days in a row now that, some heavy language has been used in posts. I know people get frustrated but, we must remember that so many people (of all ages) use this site. I would hate to see Dave or Mr. Hansen have to re-post a thread about posting conduct.

Now, about the Tiger...

As for the Tiger.. Ever seen one after a Hawker Typhoon has been past? It probably looks the same way it does now.. A mess (guessing). AS someone else already said; stick it in a diorama.. Its not often we see a knocked out vehicle.. Be original!

Modelkid, I would suggest that you bend a little on this one and do what the community has been suggesting. The reason is that the FSM forum does not have that editing device that automatically blanks out objectionable language. If people start using foul language regularly, they might add it, and it has a way of zapping perfectly normal word usage as well! Example -- I went to see that movie $%^# Tracy, starring Warren Beatty, last night, and I thought it was terrible! Then I went home and gave a bowl of milk to my %@)&% cat.

As to your question, if you screwed up the wheels, stick em back on as best you can, and slap tons of mud all over them. As to the tracks, try the friuli ones. I find MK to be WAY too fidgety, though they look better, IMO.

As always, attentive forum members have already taken care of the lectures. I've edited out the offensive words--the second post I've had to do that to this Monday.

Modeling is like golf and trap shooting. It is often incredibly frustrating, and when a project flops, you wonder why you bother. Then you balance the frustrations against the successes and chalk them up to experience. Learn from what went wrong so you'll know what not to do on the next model. It's good practice for handling other, more important, frustrations you'll encounter in life.

I didn't see the other guys post. I saw yours. And I'd say the same thing to him.

Regardless, everyone has been nice so far and is trying to give you some friendly advice on both topics. Don't ruin that. If it persists, it will certainly give more justification for the use of moderators and some may not be so forgiving or as tolerant as Dave is. Or it will mean the addition of automatic language editors. Being part of several forums that use that, I can tell you it can be frustrating because it just reads a list of words, not intent or context. We've been very fortunate to have limited parental supervision. Don't ruin that. I like being an adult and sitting at the big table.

And on the continuum of sanction, if it does persist, there will be no doubt several complaints to the web guy for the forum and then the problem will be solved and you'll be removed from the list. It would be so much easier to just be careful modelkid. No one has been antagonistic, in fact they've all been helpful. Not many other forums would offer you such courtesy. I think the responses you received regarding your language have been polite, and forthright. Offering you simple reprimand to reasonable explanation. It's a cause and effect situation. Be polite, courteous and friendly, receive like in return.

On the other posts when an editor finaly dose say something about the language you start kissin . I guess i need a new screen name so i can start allover say good by to modelkid. BTW i know its just a model but geez i am far from the othere people on here that freak out when something happens.

You don't have to change your name Modelkid....just the direction you take when posting in this forum. The more respect you show to others here , the more you will get in return...that's not so bad is it?

Yea i know that i dont haft to change my name. The respect thing should be told to a few other people that "cant make up their minds no to metion any names but they seem to like cartoons". That dose not mean that they arent a good person. OK ill shut up now

No reason to change your screen name modelkid. The language was out of line but has been corrected. If I had seen the other post, I would have reacted in the same way as I did with yours. This is a forum that is used by people of all ages and the rules are quite clear on this subject.
Knowing the types of people here, you will not be looked down upon or shunned for this mistake.

You are an accepted and valued member of this forum and I for one would like to see you continue to post.

Ok iam sorry for all the trouble that ive caused and it wont happen again. But iam not the only 1 that has done something like this and I dont want to sound like iam whining but there are people that curs in their forums and noone says anything about it just an observation. Lets model.

BTW any 1 know where I can buy spares for models(armor) or a really cheap tiger 1 late tamiya ive looked on ebay.

I have been modelling for 30+ yrs, had kits mucked up by family and even more mucked up by myself.

One GREAT thing about this hobby is that we can recover from most mishaps.
Last night alone I applied decals to a Bike model they went awry and I had to ditch the decals, no problem took the airbrush and changed the colour scheme of the Bike to use the 2nd set of decals provided.

Over New Year my 3yr old Son decided to see how flexible the front spoiler for a BMW FW24 is and clean snapped it in two, managed to recover the PE parts of it and by now got the replacement parts from Tamiya.

This things happen and it can be frustrating as HELL when it does, but I do think that you over-reacted and went a bit OTT. Besides I think your post would have been better suited for the "General Modelling discussion" or the "Off-Topic discussion" sections.

Remember one thing:
"The differentiating factor between an average modeller and a good modeller is how he recovers from mishaps and accidents during the build."

I have seen superb models done by pros over here and at times I listened to stories of what went wrong during the build, it is an eye-opener to hear how a kit with soo many mishaps can still take 1st place.
