Looking for a RSO Steyr
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 12, 2004 3:53 PM
I have been looking for the Italeri 1/35 scale kit of the Raupenschlepper Ost (sp?) Steyr tractor. It is the truck with tracks instead of conventional wheels. Anybody know where I might find one?Big Smile [:D]

The Hobby shop I mentioned below has 2 or 3 in stock.. I'll email you with the phone number. They will ship out of the store.

Squadron Mail Order is probably the best place to find it. Italeri makes two versions of this kit; the original is an old Peerless/MAX mold from the mid-70s and has the steel cab. In 1998 Italeri released the wooden-cab version with the Pak 40. Also, ModelKasten makes RSO tracks, in styrene; they're workable (they assemble easily with short pins on one side) and include correct drive and idler spockets. Fruillmodel also makes RSO tracks in white metal but they don't include the drive/idler sprockets. They're about the same price, but frankly the MK version is a better value.
