if you feel uneasy about the company, put it on a credit card. If they don't deliver, you can always challenge the charge. I'd call them first to be sure they have it in stock first though. I'm finding alot of the sites I order from will show you a pic, and take your order and back order the item. I've alleviated alot of that by calling for availibility of the item and then having it shipped.
ABE books is a good bookfinder site. They list book dealers and contact info and you can sometimes find some good deals on current as well as out of print books.
