Hi all,My Legend LF1213 stovage set arrived today so its time to get on with this one. Here is the kit supplied part with the Legend offering aside of it.Got a base coat of light green ( still not sure about that colour) on to the vehicle:And started to mask of the Splinter Camo:Here is a picture with the optional stowage set with a camo net included:Comments and critisism wellcome as usual.Very Best RegardsJohan
Zokissima,I use Games Workshop or "Citadel Colour" Chaos Black. In this case sprayed from the can.Excellent bite and does not build up like Tamiya primer.Very Best RegardsJohan
When you say you primed it with Chaos Black, are you referring to the Games Workshop line of paints?
If so, is it primed by the spray can, or you somehow airbrushed the actual paint...?
Hi again,It is been a while since the last update and to be honest I have not made a lot of progress. It is time for the first layer of light green, here is the kit before the paint goes on:The periscopes are all covered with Tamiya masking tape which conforms very well to all surfaces.A bit of a hickup here, there is a photoetched mesh sheet that should have been on the inner side of the lower stair, it will have to go on outer now.
The kit comes with an optional aluminium barrell, but I quite like the plastic one.
All comments most wellcome as allways :)Very Best RegardsJohan
Family weekend Unfortunately very little time for anything else...I need help and advice though.A lot of pictures shows the STRF with the Commander hatch in an elevated position:This position can not be achived with the kit parts. It looks to me as if the hinge guids have been elavated 20 centimeters to allow the commander to get an overview without actualy opening the hatch using the hinge as depicted in the box art.Anyone out there who can offer guidence?Very Best RegardsJohan
Glad you like it so far Hercmech,This is how they look assembled...
Seems to be a little bit of cleaning up to do, better visible with the flash:Again, all comments are wellcome.Very Best RegardsJohan
I like the way your glass parts came out. I have not tried that technique before but I will have to give it a shot.
Not a lot of progress today, spent most of the evening mixing colors. The light green is refered to as Russia Green.Russia Green on a Swedish STRF...I dont think so.I hope I am pretty close now with a mix of XF21 Sky and XF58 Olive Green.I mixed 5 parts XF21 to 1 part XF58 and this is the result...I know this is just a sample but comments are more then welcome.Very Best RegardsJohan
Construction starts with the running gear, but I want to get the upper and lower hull together so I am deviating The swing arms are very easy to assembleThe main components of the hull and turret are in place. Fit is excellent!I have preshaded the main componenst using Chaos Black. There is a sink mark in the front plate that I thought I had corrected
The area arround the periscope inserts are painted Nato Green XF67 to allow assembly of the clear parts. The back of the clear parts have been painted Clear Blue X23 in several layers. The back has been sealed with Flat White XF2.The parts have then been hand painted with multiple layers of Nato Green.
I can now start worrying about the Splinter Camo.I have so far not found a Tamiya equivalent to the light green, time to start mixing Very Best RegardsJohan
Cool looking vehicle no matter what version. Will certainly be keeping an eye for your updates on this!
Thanks,Kevin Keefe

So here we go;This is a 1:1...OOB, 1/35:Upper hull VS lower hull, very good fit.Good detailHave no clue where that square hole is going to fit...Jokes aside, this is going to be good fun :)Very Best RegardsJohan
Just got myself a copy of Academy's STRF 9040B.It looks very good OOB but the lack of add on armor makes it difficult to convert this to a C, something I think most modelers would opt for since this is the combat version.Does anyone now of any after market supply?Very Best RegardsJohan
