My 'NAM Magazine Collection:
Posted by Hinksy on Sunday, November 28, 2010 4:43 AM

Morning folks,

I've just been trawling through a couple of office archiving boxes that I have full of magazines and books (for the record I'm referring to model and WWII magazines - the 'gentlemans magazines' are under my bed) Wink

I hadn't seen them for a good while and was getting worried that they'd been chucked out during the great bedroom renovation of 2009 but, thank God, I found them!!!

They've been a great read and when I start on a few 'Nam builds which I plan to do at some point they'll really help me when it comes to figures, stowage and armour as they have colour pictures galore.

These are the magazines - looking at them I think they must be American because there is no US Dollar price on the front - only other currnecies. Not that I'd ever sell them but I wonder if they are collectors items or worth anything? I bet some of you guys must have read these when you were younger? Some bloke I knew had them and I pointed them out one time. He sold me both volumes for £10! Every single magazine is there and he's got the special hardcover binders for both volumes-all are pristine and the only blemish is a slightly torn spine on one of the binders. I think they date from about 1989?

I only have got two issues, and they are great, so I definitely would like to have more of them. In this sense they are collector's items, because you can see potential buyers for them Geeked

Start those 'Nam projects already!

Have a nice day

I have the first issue and I loved it.  My parents gave me for Christmas when I was in college in late 90's.  I didn't realize there are more issues and I'd love to get those too.

I've never heard of them.  I do however have a book called Mission Vietnam.  It's about the size of a squadron in action book with a dark cover showing a F-4 taking off.  I was lucky enough to grab a copy from our dayroom when I was waiting to go to the armory.  I also have a series of scrap books loaded with clips and articles from the Pacific Stars and Stripes and cover almost every day for both my tours.
