Wbill's 2010 Production Run
Posted by wbill76 on Sunday, December 26, 2010 1:14 PM

While 2010 saw a 33% drop in overall production of modelling subjects (7 total vs. 10 in 2009), it was still a productive year overall. As we enter the final days of the year and the production line is in the process of switching over in anticipation for the new model year, here's the run-down of what left the grounds over the last 12 months:

January: DML's 1/35 Imperial Series Pzkpfw III G Afrika Korps

March: DML's 1/35 Nashorn "Premium"

April: DML's 1/35 StuG IV Early Smart Kit

June: Italeri's 1/35 Sdkfz 10/5 (or Demag D7 w/ Flak 38 as they call it)

August: Tamiya's 1/35 Wespe

September: DML's 1/35 Pzkpfw III N w/ Winterketten Smart Kit

December: DML's 1/35 Jagdpanther Late

Here's to the coming 2011 New Year, may it be full of styrene bliss! Beer It's been great sharing these builds and their progress with the guys here on the forum.

Bill

Since you decided to analyze and as I am an engineer....... while on 58.333% of the months in 2010 saw you completing a model it should be noted that 85.714% were in camoflage and 92.857% had tracks but overall 100.001% were outstanding builds!.

It is not about quantity, its quality....and more over, its not quality, its about quality fun.....you got it all

Happy New Year....best of styrene and resin in 2011

Wbill,

Excellent work & productivity!

I see a common theme which would be German armor vehicles of WWII. How about a allied vehicle or maybe a aircraft for 2011? I would suggest a Sherman Firefly or a ever popular Spitfire, possibly a Mosquito.

All are very well done, If I had to chose it would be the Panzer IV w/ winter track extensions as my favorite. Yes

That's a pretty productive year Bill. That Wespe is really the bomb.

Thanks Kevin!

Mike, only in the world of statistics is it possible to exceed 100% in the reporting! Big Smile Thanks as always for your continued support and encouraging comments!

BeerAnthony, the DAK Pz III was a fun build, one of those occasions where I got to do a lot of customization to personalize the final build. Glad you like it!

SF, thanks for the comments as well! I used to build aircraft almost exclusively when I was younger and when I got back into the hobby in 2000, that's where I started before shifting to armor in 2001. Not set up any more to do AC so that's not likely but appreciate the suggestion all the same. As for something allied in 2011, that might be possible...I still have the Trumpeter KV-II in the stash that's been patiently waiting for a long while...who knows? I don't plan out far in advance what I'm going to work on and usually just wait for the inspiration to strike when it's time to start the next project. Wink

Eric, thanks as well, the Wespe is one of my favorites from the year as well. I thoroughly enjoyed that build and had a lot of fun with it. Beer

I had the pleasure to follow ALL of your WIPs in 2010. Beer  If you really want to know which is my favorite... I'd say its a tie between Wespe and Japdpanther.  I still love them all and I will not let Manny marry any of them!

I forgot what you are planning to do next?  Maybe something easy and quick so that way you will feel refreshed.  I dare you to build a Sherman...

Looks like a great year of building...I know were not voting, but the jagdpanther is my choice for your model of the year.

Truly impressive run of builds Bill.  You know I'm one of your big fans.  Not only the quality of your builds but the detail with which you chronicle them sets you at the peak of contributors to this site!  Thanks for the lineup!

Wow, great stuff! I haven't been around the armour forum as much as I'd like and missed a few of these so thanks for posting them here!

I need to get back to doing more AFVs, I swear I would if mine looked half as good as your models!

Marc, Nate, Bob, minimortar, Stage Left, cb1, and p38, thanks for the kind words and encouragement, Happy New Model Year 2011 to all of you!

BeerAndy, you've been a great source of encourgament and support, thanks! I think you're in luck as the Herr Feldmarschall seems to be vacationing in Odessa and is unavailable for any ceremonies at the moment. Wink I did choose a relatively simple "holiday" vacation project and will have some pics up sometime this week depending. No dice on doing a Sherman...I actually built several some years back but once I turned to the "darker side" I liquidated all the remaining Shermans in the stash.

IB48, thanks for the encouragement as well. I've found it very hard to part with my finished builds...I have thought on occasion about possibly selling some of them on e-bay but haven't been able to bring myself to actually do it. Big Smile

DM aka Steve, I had a feeling that one would be your favorite. Wink Looking forward to hopefully seeing your next creation soon?

BeerKenny, Happy New Year to you as well and thanks for the comments!

Boyd, thanks as well for the kind words. Always a pleasure to share the build logs with the gang here on FSM!

BeerGamera, glad you were able to catch a few that you missed. I keep copies of all my build logs on my site, http://www.bpmodels.net , so you can see the logs to go with them there as well if you're interested.
