Japnese MC afternoon build.

I picked up this kit in the summer of 2009. It was different and I do have a fondness for Japanese subjects in1/35.

So this afternoon I pulled it out of the stash and built it in one sitting. All in all a nifty little kit that was a pleasure to build. I have only seen Pit Road kits of 1/700 ship subjects so I was very curious how this one would work out. The engineering was very precise and everything fit "just right". Mold seam clean up was minimal. The figures were unique in that everything (including items like pouches and canteens) had positive locater lugs. Talk about a solid fit and alignment on figures. Geeked Anyways here are a few pics. If the weather clears up tomorrow I should be able to get it painted. It has been way too humid and rainy here lately to get any airbrushing done. Storm Lightning

I left the fender for the sidecar tire unattached until after painting. I just placed it on the spare for the pics. The tires on the bike actually rotate on their axles. Propeller

Very cool! Could you tell me the company SP? I can't make it out on the box, I never even heard of this kit.

I noticed it says IJN on the box, and I'm wondering if they do an army version too?

Gamera the company is Pit Road. I have only seen them making ship related stuff in 1/700 scale. Never anything in AFV related. One of those cases where you see it and snatch it up cause it wont be there again if you do not.

Bill, I bet there are more out there...just a question of if anyone does a kit. It does make me want to build more of the motorcycle kits I have in the stash though... This afternoon the weather cooperated, so I got it sprayed with a coat of Mr Color Japanese Army Khaki. Looks a lot Flat Earth... Hmm And the tires painted an appropriate shade. Now for all the detail bits.

OK, the cycle is all done. I completed the painting this evening. A quirky point I must mention to Gamera here. The side of the box calls it an IJA MC while the front says IJN. The decals are no help. They include IJA Star or IJN Anchor and Rising Sun insignia. I opted for the IJA markings. The figures are still in the paint shop.
