Jeeps are considered soft-skinned vehicles, not armor.

You do have a very liberal interpretation of what armor is. Usually a softskin that has a weapons system is considered a guntruck or gunjeep, but not an armored vehicle. A jeep does fit here though, since it is a ground vehicle, the Armor forum is the best place for it. Maybe not for a dio though.
As to the dio, it looks as though it is coming along well so far. It is just a base with some groundwork right now though. Not much to comment on.

Aww, come on big boys! Cut the ****! It says "Tanks, artillery, personnel carriers, and jeeps" on top of the armor forum page! If one wants to be anal about the clasification of posts this one should be in Dioramas forum. And it is not forbidden to start a separate thread in Armor forum for the jeep itself.
Could we please see some more building process here? Thanks in advance and good luck with your build, have a nice day

All comments and critique welcomed. Thanks for your honest opinions!

Watch what you ask for. You got comments on the jeep since you asked for them...
I'm working on a kind of large Vietnam era dio with figures and jeeps. So I guess those are armor...no????
For ideas, the M48A3 sounds good as well. It depends on what you want to model. Be careful on the M151s though. They will need to be backdated. The Tamiya one is an M151A2 which wasn't fielded until 1972 and very few made it to Vietnam. You need to backdate it to an M151A1 with a split windshield, striaght front fenders, smaller front turn signals, older style rear lights, different wiper motors, differently shaped rear fender opening, etc., etc....
As for the M151, I recomend my website here: www.vietnam.net.pl
plus, of course, a lot of research online. Things that have to be adressed right on, are front and rear fenders, windshield and the steering wheel. The seats are also a major subject. The underside is in my opinion the most demanding target for conversion, but of course on a dio it won't be visible, so it can be left off. Funny area is the vertical surfaces of the rear fenders - they have some interesting detail, mainly the rear spring mounts that are not shown on the model due to technology limitations.
Hope it helps, good luck with your build and keep 'em comin'!

Aw, baby, you didn't get any plus points for this one...
It's not so easy to lock a thread on this forum, even Aaron Skinner didn't get it right at first... Plus, do you have something against freedom of speech?
And - I hope my colleagues agree with me - we might me anal, we might be mean, but we answer. There is also a lot of nice, polite people who didn't write a single thing in your thread. I have a bad feeling you act lika a primadonna now. And I write this because I care about this thread. You know, recently it's all about WWII, not many people give a * about Vietnam. And most of the people who have been there or know about it tend to be a little grumpy - getting shot at might have this effect on people sometimes... Of course you are more than welcome to do all the research by yourself - just be careful, if you haven't been there, it's easy to make stupid mistakes - and I'm talking from experience (I was born in central Europe in 1979, modelling Nam since 1995 and still have a lot to learn). Anyhow - good luck with your project, and please try to have a good day!

I'll echo what Pawel said above. Keep up w/your attitude and you won't get much help here. Good luck with the dio though.

Wow. Like I said, keep up the attitude. You asked questions, you got answers. I'm sorry if some of those answers upset you. It seems that you are the only one having issues here. Sorry we are not all cuddly and soft enough for you. Like I said before, good luck with it.

**EDIT** I posted before I read the rest of the OP replies. NOW I think I know who needs to lighten up.
