The roof on the fighting compartment was used from the earlier stuh 42 kit,so I could have the cast cupola armor and also the late hatch configuration.

Got a horn fer ya to. The tubular idlers were just a change that was implemented  as a design and material change. Cast, which was costly and probably more labor intensive, to tubular steel which could be bent in a jig and welded quickly.

LOL thanks for the heads up! Really , hmm did not know that they were refitted, i assume for strength reasons and to save weight?

Pvt. Mutt , I have seen his work, its amazing, had no idea he was Springfield!

So my awesome grandfather is dropping by my LHS to grab me some paint on his way home, so i'll have some more stuff to finish the panzer and the Willy's MB I'm working on (for him and he doesn't even know...LOL) He was a MP stationed in Italy in 1945 and the tamiya kit has a italy based MP version in its decal set =D

Thanks again man for the parts, if i can ever help you please lemme know.

Before I launch this stuff your way I will see if I can find a horn. Also many Ausf.D's were re-fitted with the later tube steel idlers. Will notify when items are sent. By the way,a Pvt. Mutt here on the forum hails from Springfield.. Great guy, except he has a terrible addiction to self propelled guns.Black EyeYesYes

Bill,

You sir are correct, it is indeed a siren..lol (i feel silly for not realizing that sooner) .

I agree detailfreak stepped up out of nowhere and i am very grateful. I have parts also but since this is only my 3rd armor piece (i have a tiger 1 also in the works) all my parts are car related..lol

Thanks for stopping by and glad to have you both along on this build =D

Welcome back to the forum!

The part you're missing as an FYI is the siren, not a light, and am glad one of the members is able to come to your aid with spares! If nothing else, it's a reminder on the value of keeping spare parts from prior builds...never know when you or someone else might need it. Beer Wink

I'm certain that I have the light you speak of. Is it the round light with the slotted cover. Also you can use the start a conversation button to give me you're address instaed of posting it right in the thread.Yes

Those will work, and i still have a couple of covers left over so i should be ok there.

the light sadly is not that one but the light thing to the left of the headlight on the right side of this pic pic

Looks like it has a grill on the front of it.

Any ideas?

Found the idlers but they have no hub covers, have covers for the roadwheels that could work.Don't know if anybody will notice. Also the lo\ight you are missing the Notek by any chance?

That will be the one in the lower right of the sprue. Let me know.

Not sure if the dragon wheel will work, if its 1/35th and looks similar to this then it should :

Lemme know if you think it would, and thank you for the generous offer =D

Ok so a little background on this before i put pics up;

I got this kit about 7 years ago, started it then it got shelved due to other things going on in my life, I was on this forum back then under the username HORUS, some may remember me most wont..lol.

Anywho, onto this build which is only the second piece of armor i have built ...ever...lol It has been both a fun and frustration kit so far and I will explain why.

I opened the box last night to find that somehow I maanged to lose one of the idler wheels on the back... AND my smoke canisters and holder had broken off but were nowhere to be found...

This made me upset but i figured i am gonna finish what i can on this until i can figure out how to replace that wheel/smoke canister.

So i began adding the detail parts and withing in 5 mins (no lie) i managed to lose the fuel cap, one of the front light assemblies *not the head light but the one behind and to the left of the drivers side headlight* the handle to the jack and my sanity.  These pieces have been lost to the void know as the floor..lol I am worried it will kill the overall look of the tank if i cannot recover/replace these parts.

Anywho here are the pics of what i have done so far, and yes the support rollers are all accounted for just not on atm. also i have to clean the seams on the turret.

I still have a lot more pieces to attach to the upper deck, and i am not sure i got the placement right on a few things. I wanna do this in the African version, i have the rear box built for the turret just not attached. Is it possible to have a African version thats not painted tan?

Thanks for looking and any and all critique/advice etc are welcome!
