Awesome, I have the same kit with basically all the same A/M goodies. I'll be watching this one with great interest.

It's so good to see the factory running full tilt again.

I always thought this to be a cool subject, and no doubt the MK tracks will be an appropriate upgrade.

Off to a great start Ron, looking forward to see what you do with the older kit. Looks like the update sets are dressing her up nicely.

Just noticed the AM tires with the bulge. Nice touch and would make the A/C guys smile.

Biffa you ever think to try out the Trumpeter Flak 37 kit it builds up close to the Tamiya gun itself(Not kidding actually have the kit). But has operating features not found on the Tamiya kit such as an operating elevation gear and the hydraulic baffles that are hooked to the gun cradle actually work. (It does come with 6 clips of 37mm ammo vs the 3 clips in the Tamiya version).  Try swapping the Tamiya gun with the Trumpeter one. BTW if your going to build the 7/1 at some later point you can actually stick the Flak 37 onto it as it was carried by both Versions.

Looks great so far. It's one of my most favorite German AA armors. Can't wait to see you finish it!

Hi Mikey i have been looking at some of the new (at least to me being out of the loop for a while ) trumpeter and dragon releases of these kits and they look terrific but i promised myself i will not spend any money on kits or extras for a while and build some of the 120+ kits i have stashed... and we shall see how long before i break that promise heh.

i finished putting this one together using what i had the biggest problem was the wheels being far too wide for the MK tracks  so lots of chopping was done to get these narrow enough to work

the interior got a paintjob but just enough for what could be seen through the back window

and here she is painted and weathered i didnt bother trying to log any of this for two reasons really,  first i just want to get on with it for now having just got back and dont want to get too bogged down with the picture taking etc and secondly i really am not following any kind of steps but just doing some of this then some of that and would only end up with 50+ images that made no sense  so anyway the pics...

i noticed a spot here and there needing a touch up but not to worry.

Nice work Ron, you've dressed up this older kit nicely and the finish is just right IMHO. Particularly like the faded camo look you've given it.

Man, that was a quick build. Love the MK tracks. Also like the look of the shovel too. Nice wood-toning. Camo is perfect too.

Hi, Ron i built this kit when it came out first, I think that was during the last ice age or something. I must say that I found it  a pleasure to build. I think that you have given this old kit a new breath of life here. Congrats on a five star finish don't think anybody could imporve on the work you have done and you have certainly given it a first class paint job.

 I do not care what people may say about the Dragon/Trumpeter kits, with a lil TLC you can make a Tamiya kit pop out!!

 And you did just that..!! Wow I really like the over all finish especially with the weathering and all the added detail items.

 One question though, with what you did in the cab, how come you never left a door popped open? Just curious...

Very, very nice Biffa. It amazes me how you can make plastic look like metal. During your build, was there anything to look out for or be mindful of? Like I said previously, I have the same kit with prettty much all the same A/M goodies.

I almost missed this one too. A lot of really nice work done in a short period of time. Sure wish that I could get something like this done fairly quickly. Great subject, great assembly, great paint and a great finish!

Obsolete or not,ya did a damn fine job on it.

Mike (Butz) i originally planned on an open door but in the end just decided not to no real reason other than the extra detailing that would be required on the inside of the door.

Panzer88 this is definatly a typical Tamiya build easy as they get also no worries with the PE i assume if you have the MK tracks you have the wheels also so they should work fine i did not and the kit wheels were way too wide for them and needed lots of chopping in order for them to fit but like said you shouldnt have this problem reallythis was a easy enjoyable build all round
