Anyone who followed along in 'No AM GB' will agree it has been a long strange trip indeed. For the first time I scratch built a tank interior in 1/72 scale and tried oil paints as a wash on models. This was not for weathering but adjusting the base color to be more accurate. Final weathering will be done in gray weathering powder and of course a few more chips etc. once attached to the display base. (next project)
'Chwat' was a Hetzer captured by Polish fighters during the Warsaw Uprising. The vehicle was immobile and fixed by the new owners. The vehicle served well and was lost not to German anti tank measures but the collapse of the post office it fought by. One can only guess the post office was hit by a heavy mortar that shelled the city causing the collapse.
The figure was modified from the Italeri kit to be sitting inside 'listening in' to the German radio traffic:
The jack block was added as per kit, Chwat does not show it or the remote MG 34 in reference pictures yet scratch built both as the tank is not even the correct version!
Eye level views are my second favorite only to outdoor eye view pictures:
Tanks for checking out Chwat! I will post WIP's of the base as I intend to model the barricade the Hetzer fought by as well a wall representing the post office
