Dodge WC62/63 by Skybow
Posted by constructor on Friday, January 14, 2011 6:29 PM

I have started to build the Skybow(now AFV Club) Dodge WC62/63 Personnel Carier. I am now on the engine part and the instruction gave all the colors of the different parts to be attached to the engine block but not for the block. I have a Gen Patton Dodge as well and I painted the block as per reference, green (not OD). Will this be true to the 62/63 as well? Any reference photos?

The blocks were either OD Green or Grey.  Early ones were grey, later models switched to green as production increased.

Dear constructor,
I found the following while I was researching the Bantam and Pattons WC56/57.
The engine block is a grey primer.

Also this link could be useful
http://wc63.blogspot.com/2009/07/engine-and-transmission-are-installed.html
The editor stripped and rebuilt a WC63, very impressive.

Both above have the same disadvantage, they are rebuilds and not originals but the rest of the pictures I have found on the internet show engine bloks in varioues tones of rust.

OD or grey just as already suggested would be my 2 cents

Kind Regards
Uto
