Nice build so far!  My question is though - since you are building a specific vehicle, do the pictures of the just completed vehicle show that much staining / fading / weathering to the primer?

Well, well, well... that just looks plain ol' SWEET and your photography skills certainly helps to make this 'shine'! I like the weathered plating...the streaking breaks up what would otherwise be too 'consistant' of a surface(s). I am looking forward to seeing this one finished up!

I will admit that is one of two of my favorite German WWII heavy metals. I was not aware that this is available in 1/48th and that just sweetens up the pot some as the 1/35th version would just take up too much display case room.

Regarding Bronto´s question: There are no pictures available of this vehicle. Regarding my bibliography, chasis 35083 to 35087 where quickly finished at the end of the war and developed to security and defence duties around the Nibelungenwerke factory. At least, 3 of them were equiped with a 88 mm  jagdpanther´s gun (without optics). The rest, were armed with the 128 mm Pak. So, my Jagdtiger is more or less, a sci fi vehicle as I´m supposing how this vehicle was quickly put into action (wheels form another vehicle, no tools, no engine grills...), because no picture is available. Room to imagination!

ReRegarding the Jagdtiger paint. These are the steps applied before taking the picture:

- Pre-shadowing the hull with 90% black+10% red hull. No picture of this step on this vehicle, but will be similar to this one

- Base mix: A Red hull + red + yellow mix (to my taste), applied in a non uniform way all over the vehicle. All Tamiya colors using lacquer thinner.
- Some modulation using acylic paint to edges, hatches, rivets....

Some progress. I just added some orange (no matter if not a matt paint) and yellow from Tamiya to my taste.

Next step, chipping

I noticed a lot of 1/48 scale builds, is that for a reason or just because the kits are new releases?

Jose as always your technique is an inspiration. I am at the point of the final paint on a Marder and think I iwll try the pre-shading.

Now, another step, chipping and chalk (made with a white pencil)... next step, a really heavy weathering with dust, oil, dirt, grease .....

The chalk marks really provide some character to this build, definitely looking better and better with each update.
