Dan,
I can recommend Tamiya's 1/35 Mid Production Hetzer, # 35285.
This is a a kit that can build into a star right OOB or you can opt to go nuts on super detailing.
Pick your choice on complexity wherever you want.
Link and lenght tracks, only 8 road wheels ( thanks ČKD ) and monoton dark yellow in its most starightforward colour scheme.
There are a lot of build logs for the Hetzer in this forum, just make sure you don't get carried away :)¨

As allways

Yep, can't go wrong with Tamiya. I prefer the newer ones, late 80's and up such as their Pz Mk III L, Wespe, StuG III G Early, Sherman Early, and Cromwell. The Cromwell goes together like butter and is monotone, so no camo is needed.

Dan, I will echo what everyone else has suggested, Tamiya is a great place to start. Any of their armor kits will work, but i suggest the smaller tanks such as the Sherman or the Panzers , avoid a Tiger/Panther/ Stug for your first build. For the love of god stay away from artillery...lol sanity will be lost.

On the bench:

1/35th Tamiya Willi's MB

Tamiya kits are usually straight foward, good fitting builds. The older ones are cheaper.

Yup.No better place to start.

Any of the Tamiya Shermans. I'm building the M4 Early Production right now. Builds up quickly and easily (assembled 90% of it in about two hours). Hard to screw up the OD paint scheme.

On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2

On Deck:  1/350 HMS Dreadnought

Hey y'all.  I'm used to building planes and would like to try some armor or a vehicle.  Can you recommend an easy to get, not too detailed starter vehicle/armor for me.  Your input, as always, is appreciated.

Completed: Confederate Squadron F6F Hellcat

On the Bench: Monogram TBD Devastator

On Deck: Likely a piece of German Armor.
