The Tank workshop has both the fighting compartment and engine compartment as separate sets, But I can see your point, it gets pricey at $80 total without adding S&H.

Cheap is a relative term; interior sets tend to be pretty spendy regardless of the manufacturer. You should plan to spend someplace between $35 and $60 depending on who makes it and how complete it is. Tank Workshop makes good quality AM accessories, but they aren't cheap. 1/35 Tiger kits can be found on ebay for $20-$30 daily.

I must tell you from my own experiences ,to beware the early verlinden stuff. Tank workshop seems good Jaguar,CMK Royal model, these are names I can think of. Shop e-bay is a good source,be preparred to pay a premo price. But if you are not in a rush be patient and shop wisely.Yes

Try scratch building!

Even with all the hatches open the detail seen inside is more representative that exact. Everyone has a box of spares with small goodies that can be reused for tank interiors. Think OOB and source parts from dollar store craft sections, brass crimps in various lengths are great for everything from cans of food, barrel details and even ammo brass.

If you have good reference pictures it can be built! Every resin master started out this way.

Inexpensive Tiger I?

Best deals are found at model contest vendors tables, even a partial start can be salvaged into a show stopper. This way there is no S&H fees or surprises when items are mailed. Take a few kits for trade $ to lessen the cost.
