cross kitting zimmerit

Y'all remember Tim the tool man and his visits to the emergengy room? That's me and super glue. So I thought slow-curing putty was my way. Works for me.....plenty of time to make it look good, or

to what Rob said. You'll be happier with one designed for the kit you're building but you can make do in a pinch with one that's not, but might get some unexpected surprises in the process. Sets also sometimes come with resin replacement parts vs. just providing zim panels and if those resin parts don't fit your cross-kit, you might have more work than you bargained for in the end.

The premade zimm is usually very kit specific with nooks and gaps made where needed for that company's kits. I'd look for a set made for your kit, especially if this is your first experience using zimm.

I imagine that in 1/35 scale that their will be little noticable difference, but I doubt that both manufacturers would build the same subject exactly. Therefore, you'd probably have to putty and rake with a razor-saw some spots that might not be covered. This would work better in resin such as Cavalier or Atak.
