DML Dicker Max WIP
Posted by Pvt Mutt on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 6:21 PM

Last night I was browsing around the site and found a Dicker Max being built by Wild Bill. He was pointing out little problem areas and it got my curiosity up so with the snow coming down in buckets I got mine out this morning and got to fiddling with it and before I knew it I had gotten this much done.

I bought this kit when it was first released on day one and I didn't run across any problems that have plagued some of the others that have built it. Because i'm going to use some PE, I did spread a very thin coat of filler back there where the ammo lockers will sit just to make sure I had a good flat surface to attach to.

I'll keep you posted if and when.Big Smile

Oh, did I miss your finished Marder? I'd better go back and check.

This certainly appears to be in your wheel-house Tony, another open-top. Yes

Neato!  Loved building mine. Looking forward to seeing yours.

You may as well just make the rack for the extra wheels that's on the make out of wire now.  Because you are gonna break the plastic oneWhistling

You have caught my attention once again. Yes  I am afraid to ask you how many unpainted models you will paint when the weather is warmer.  Maybe you can call in the reinforcements and buy our plane tickets so we can help you.  Of course you will have to feed us well and serve us plenty of Beer...

Today's progress with the ammo lockers. Not quite done but close.

On the left rear side I thought I would show them closed up:

Right rear side I left them open:

Ammo locker location in the fighting compartment:

The bottom of the right rear projectile locker hasn't been seal up yet just in case I need to get in there and place the projectiles when I get them.

Dang it's cold around this part of the country.Sad

Howdy:  I built the shell locker door but when I tried to place it in the storage slot it would just fall out.

Voyager made those PE shell lockers 2mm narrower than the kit boxes. I cut a spacer and reglued the kit provided PE retainer strip on it. All is right with the world again.Big Smile

Love it Tony, I can always rely on you to show us how to pile in the brass parts, from what you have done just to now it is already making a big difference.

Keep up the good work,

Terry.
