                        thanks to all. i have yet to review the movie for research but i seem to have seen part of it a long time ago.  i did see the youngster the other day  and informed him of the price of the basic model and that it would take some time for the project to be completed,  he agreed so its on to the planing stages, any way thanks to all for the help an input

                        As I recall the water & power tank they stole was a Soviet PT-76, but after modification it is a Stuart under all the add ons. The tracks are the give away, only the Stuart and some high speed tractors have tracks like that.

                        From what I can make out, it appears to be an M5 Stuart heavily modified with a Pattonish turret (I think)

                        while at the ole watering hole talking to some old friends (all vets) the subject drifted to AFV,s an i mentioned that i have yet to build that model when a youngster next to me ask, you build models?   i acknowledged that i did  when he went on to say that he was a big fan of the movie and wanted a model of the tank and could i build one?  i told him i probably could but i needed research on the subject .. so what tank was used on that movie
