German Camo, show me your fav scheme
Posted by Shawn M. on Friday, February 18, 2011 1:11 PM

Im going to be building my first armor kit, a 1/35 Tamiya Gepard with the full Eduard PE set.

I'd like to do a more fun camo scheme then green or tan on it, so I figured why not do a WIF scheme.

I know there are some GREAT WW2 schemes, so I'd love to see your favorite ones!

Snow, desert, continental what have you, post away!

Thanks, Shawn the normally aircraft guy.

I'm not very familiar with modern schemes but the " Manny's Rod " scheme  described in the

<< Re: How to get your wife to agree to the purchase of a $229 plastic model kit >>

thread would be fun. Big Smile

Failing that, the WWII German "Ambush " scheme is my favorite from WWII and the "digital" schemes so popular these days would be nice, but complex.

though not German camo, the Communist Chinese have some interesting digital camo on armor vehicles:

Maybe digital camo on your Revell 1/32 Me-110 C ?  Wink

If I were to build a piece of German armour, I'd be going with an ambush camo as well, it's always seemed to be the most convincing one to me - and it just looks cool too!

I've always suspected somebody in the Reich camo development department was a frustrated , out of work "impressionist" painter.

Ambush Scheme looks like fun!

Anyone make good red with white surround numbers for the turret?

don't know how good , but they are listed as dry transfers.

Did Verlinden make some wet transfer?

I'm having trouble finding it, but on the Elefant, there was a cool "jigsaw puzzle" theme. It's basically "pieces" of the puzzle all over the tank.

I also endorse the ambush scheme.
