A new penpal that lives near this place sent me this link. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Panzermuseum_Munster?uselang=de       I've never been to Samur or Bovington, But this place looks like it has darn near everything the Germans produced ! Regardless,it's got some great pix. keith r.

I went there in the late 80s while stationed at Mannheim. I was impressed, I still have some old shots from there. I did notice back then that some stuff looked meticulously restored and some looked rather ratty, but I figured they were just in progress.

If  everything stays on track,I'm planning to do the Monaco G.P. this year & while in Europe,I wanted to see other stuff.Since you've been there,Rob,ya think it's worth the trip from southern France ? Thanks, keith r.

It was over 20 yrs ago, so hard to tell if it is worth it today or not. I went on a day trip alone, drove there, wandered around snapping photos, ate lunch (curry wurst & fries) and was home in time for dinner.

It was about 4-5 hours on the autobahn, not too far a journey. Not sure if it is worth it from S. France though, I'd probably look for some place closer in France. I remember being impressed with the Normandy museums and Verdun, but I think the tunnels in Verdun are closed at this time of year.
