1/72 Dragon Tiger I finished
Posted by Delbert on Sunday, March 13, 2011 8:08 AM

I just finished this one

and thought i'd post it here for feedback.. all comments will be read and considered.

Its the 1/72 scale Dragon Tiger I late w/zimmerit was a nice clean build.. except for the rear sprockets.. they need to be sanded to fit right and I didn't quite get it right.

Painted in 3 tone camo with model master enamals.. oil wash, oil fading and some pastels..
Here it is..

Dragon's 1/72 Scale Tiger I Sd.Kfz. 181 Ausf. E Late Production with Zimmerit...

Not the best photos as I'm always trying to figure out how to take the best small scale photos... but good enough for now..

thanks for looking

Very nice job of my favorite beasty. I wish I could work in such a smaller scale!

If I may comment on 1 thing, tools, cleaning rods and cables were removed, prior to the crew adding their own camo patterns.

Other than that....BRAVO!

Though it's no fault of your own, it's a shame that the kit didn't come with engine grills. I mean it had the pre-zimmerit and all. This doesn't take away from your fine work, just an observation on the kits contents.Nicely done.

A nice build. The camo looks excellent and convincing.

Well done

Thanks for the kind words fellows..   Its one of the things that keeps me finishing those projects..

This is my first Tiger tank...  but will prob not be my last.   I learned a lot doing the camo and assembly..

The tools on this kit were molded on but I painted them after the camo colors in a light wood brown.. and a grafite grey..  but the weathering kind of blended them back in.. same with the tow cables.. painted a gunmetal  then after weathering hit it with a grafite penceil, but its hard to see in the photo's and the scale..

2 things lacking in the kit are engine grills.  and vision bocks..   and there are problems with the thickness of the rear drive sprockets, they need to be sanded down and I didn't quite get mine right..

but overall I found it an enjoyable and fairly quick (for me) build..
