Flakpanzer V Coelian

It's been awhile since I've shared anything here. I've got a backlog of built kits, just having too much fun to post up pics of the finished product. This is one I've been wanting to build for a long time and finally pulled it out of the stash and got a few AM goodies for it. It's DML's original boxing, not the new Cyberhobby one, along with Eduard PE, Bronco's Panther tracks, and RB Models' barrels. I also threw in a couple of Tamiya's steel rimmed wheels to mix things.

Beautiful build. The weathering is superb and I like the tonal differences in the camo. The AM guns and muzzles were undoubtedly a smart upgrade. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, talk to me about the Bronco tracks. Good? Bad? Indifferent?

Nice work dressing up the older kit. Definitely like the paint scheme you chose and glad you decided to share. Beer

Thanks Dupes for checking in. What have you been building lately? Oh yeah the Bronco tracks, detail is very, very nice, price was pretty good also, the cleanup wasn't bad (no ejector pin marks or flash, just the sprue connector points), but the only drawbacks were, they are a just a tad wider than dragon's tracklinks( Ihad to sand  down the ends a bit to get them to fit on the spare track rack) and they are supposed to be workable, but the connection points are so small and fragile I gave up and just used them like normal links and glued them. And check the fit on your kit's drive sprocket, they were a little snug on my kit and needed a little help to get seated right. For the price and detail I would recommend them, I'll probably get some more in the future for my other older Panther kits.

Nice work especially the camo and weathering! Yes  It would have been nice if it was actually produced.  Only one protocol model was made?

Very nice, love the paint scheme. I have this one in the stash myself, have had it about 15 years or so, but still not decided what scheme to go with. Like you i have loads of AM, i have gone for the Voyager barrels, but haven't decided if i should replace the kits tracks with fruils yet.

I like the small turret numbers as well. haven't seen a built one of these in a long time, and some nice ideas there. Anything i should look out for when i get round to building it.

Fine looking build there.  Great airbrush work and the weathering is really well done.

Again, thank you very much guys.

Bish - To be honest there wasn't really any problems. I went into it figuring there would have to be something since it was an older kit, but as I was building it I was pleasantly surprised. I do remember having to add periscopes to the turret and added a little more detail to the welds, but other than that it was smooth sailing. A very enjoyable build.

Thanks, always nice to get a heads up. I did build the Panther II kit years ago from the same series as this. Its one of the few built kits that survived from my early modelling. And i know that was pretty easy to build, but i didn't use AM at the time so it was just as it came. I have been wanting to do the Coelian for ages, now i have all the AM for it, i think i might fit that in once all my GB's are cleared.
