Yeah, I got that one scary cheap too - $18.80 at Greatmodels! I don't know what I was thinking, probably should have picked up ten of them and headed straight to Ebay.

Oh well, maybe next time. Crying

Yes, that's right, but TWS stuff is generally good to excellent quality. You shouldn't have any issues. As to the CyberHobby M4A2, I found the email I received when I ordered it; I paid $29.99 for it plus shipping ($7 something) back in May. Again, you'd be hard pressed to find an up to date M4A2 at that price.

I've used a couple of TW's upper hulls on Tamiya base kits. They don't just drop on, but they're close. Both of mine (Jumbo and the composite hull) were kind of lumpy and thick on the inside of the hull at the rear. Once that was smoothed and thinned a bit they worked very well. Of course you still have to fab up some sponson bottoms if you use a Tamiya hull. Regardless the TW products look very good under paint, but I like the products so I'm a bit biased about them.

So basically this was for the time before there was an actual plastic M4A2. Gotcha! At the very least I'll pull the Tiger Model Designs hatches out of there to use on something else...or I can "make my own" A2 to get into the "major modifications" category at the next contest.

Heh. Stick out tongue

The TWS M4A2 conversions were made for the Tamiya M4A3 or M4. It's super cheap because by the time you add the price of the base kit to the conversion you could have bought one of the newer tooled M4A2s (CyberHobby was literally giving away the M4A2 BeutePanzer a while back).

But if you have an old Tamiya M4A3 or M4 early you want to convert, it's good for that. #008 was an improved casting from the original (pre-2000) TWS #0024.

I belive that the TW hull came out before any of our current injection M4A2/Sherman II (Drsgon/Tasca/Academy) kits came out. The only other competition at the time in 1/35 was from Verlinden. It will likely work with any of the then mainstream M4 lower hulls/suspensions: Italeri, Tamiya, and Dragon (Italeri based) Not sure what, if anything, makes it more accurate.

Tank Workshop M4A2 Hull

Hey guys - scored a Tank Workshop M4A2 hull (item 0008) yesterday at Downeastcon suuuuuper cheap. Have tried doing some research about this big hunk o' resin, and am mostly coming up blank. Got a few questions that maybe one or more of you can answer.

1) what kit is it made for?

2) what makes this A2 different, or perhaps more accurate than any other A2? I have the Academy Russian one (13010), the Cyber Hobby Beutepanzer (6529), DML "Late PTO" (6462), DML Soviet (6188), and DML Tarawa (6062).

Went to Tank Workshop's website, they're being stingy with any info. Also google-searched it, came up with this that has some info about the specifit type it represents.
