1/72 Dragon Sherman M4A1 Normandy WIP

Hello All,

It has started out to be a really nice build so far with only a couple of issues, one of the periscopes part number 7 was completely missing from the sprue A for placement in the turret and the pivot bar at the end of the barrel part number 3 on sprue A was not moulded on so I had to add a piece of styrene rod to fix it as for the missing periscope I cut the one out of the unused hatch part number 23 on sprue B.

I have started with the turret assembly first and added a few bits and bobs both scratched and with the kit supplied PE with a few more on the way.

With barrel and mantel added.

With a No, 11 blade for size comparison.

More pics to come as building progresses.

Thanx for looking and as always comments and critiques welcome. Big Smile

Cheers, Thom

Well all I have completed work on this one and now it is time to throw some paint on her. I also decided to replace the kit barrel with one from Aber. So onto the update pics.

Very nice work so far. Dragon's range of 1:72 Shermans is excellent

Looking good Thom, can't wait to see some paint on it! How were the tracks on this one? I know the 1/35 scale DS tracks run about 2 links too long, and was curious if it's the same in 1/72.

Thanks for all the compliments guys, really appreciate them.

Nate : The DS tracks on this a spot on nothing needed to be done to them except glue them together.

Hope to have some color on it soon.

Now back to cleaning the pool, mowing the lawn and what not......Crying

Cheers,

How in the hell can you work with those tiny PE parts? I have trouble with 1/35 PE. The model is excellent! Alot of those parts are smaller than the pieces of plastic I remove from my builds! What a pleasure to see your work!
