Humvee Conversion Aghanistan

I posted this in Dio part of forum, but didn't want all you diehard armour guys to miss out ! This is my first model in 20 years. Its a Tamiya 1:35 Humvee with scratchbuilt , no aftermarket stuff. I know, I haven't uparmoured the doors, it just seemed to much after all the other stuff.

I scratchbuilt the turret/cupola, the rear bumper and spare tire mount, the gascan rack, the duke antennae, the whip antennae mount and the tow strap on the hood. I stencilled the Task Force Phoenix on the shield and handpainted the 4 leaf clover on the ammo box. First time I ever used a wash and some Tamiya weathering powders for that dusty look.

The whole dioram is obviously scratch, using drywall compound mixed with sand and acrylic and white glue on top of a blue styrofoam base. I scratch built the typical Afghan sheet metal door that is recognizable in its usuall blue, to anyone who has spent time in A-stan.

This build is in honour of US Police Mentor Team Warhog, whom I worked with in Kandahar Afghanistan in 2008/09 training the Afghan National Police.

Any feedback is great, especially on how to take better pics of my models !

Next on the workbench... A Canadian Lav3, a CF-101 Voodoo as well.

Cheers.
