Very good point Bill, that's not something I thought of.

Unlike the KV-1, the KV-2 saw more limited service/action and was designed more as an SPG than an MBT...so combining those two facts together may be part of the reason you don't see slogans on them as they wouldn't have been "charging the enemy" or engaged in quite the same type of fighting as their KV-1 brethren. Either that or the vehicles that weren't photographed were the ones sporting the slogans. Big Smile

By stereotypical I mean that they are the usual sayings often found on other Soviet tanks of the time period. I've just never seen slogans on a KV-2 and was wondering if anyone has any pictorial evidence to show me otherwise.

Geist,
Please do not get me wrong but I am not sure that I understand your question.
How can the stencils be sterotyphical if you have not seen them before?

I used to have the KV-1 reference picture that Trumpeter used, unfortunately I have lost it.
Here are some pictures off other slogans.

But you are right, I could not find any KV-2 references.

Probably in parades and right at the end of the war . There might be an example in a museum that was used for referrence .

Other then models, I'm having a tough time finding any pictures. I can find them on KV I's, but I'm sure they too had them.

The KV-2 and patriotic slogans

Hey all. Just got Trumps KV-2 "Big turret" today. The included decals are a couple of stereotypical Soviet patriotic slogans. My question is, did any KV-2's carry slogans? I've never seen a picture of one with a slogan or even tactical markings for that matter.
