Opel Blitz Cargo Area Bench Seats
Posted by redenton on Monday, April 18, 2011 9:03 PM

I'm wanting to model a 2nd series Opel Blitz in the role as a troop transport for a motorized infantry outfit. The problem is that all the models that have benches for the cargo area are going across the bed of the truck instead of along the side of the bed. All of the pictures I have acquired of this vehicle carrying troops has them along the side of the bed and not across it. The only picture I have found that even shows a bit of this bench seat shows a metal frame that was screwed to the bed and had either a padded canvas or leather seat to it. I assume that there were wooden slats underneath them.

Has any one ever seen an example of these seats on a second model Blitz or even a kit to have them installed?

I seem to recall seeing a variation with the benches length-wise down the middle with the troops facing outward.  Wish I could remember where.Confused

I've seen them all and they're all the same as I have, the bench across the cargo area.

I've seen this on other models of trucks but not a blitz, at least not yet.

Okay.  I wonder what it was that I saw.  I remember it because it was completely opposite from U.S. deuce and half arrangements.  Japanese, maybe? Huh?
