I've even decided on my build:

The Tamiya Panzer III Ausf. N (kit #35290) that comes with metal turned barrel & PE grills so I'd just want Friuls. I love the Leningrad Winter scheme ('42-'43) on the Tamiya box art like shown below; but the Kursk Summer scheme ('43) is nice too in a colourful way! Either way I'd want a vehicle shown serving on the Eastern Front.

This could be a great GB for us all especially with all these variants to choose from! There could be some very interesting builds appearing! I'm also just building the StuG III B (for the second time) so I have stacks of Panzer III spares

Ben, thanks for the words of encouragement... now the feeler is sent out finally.  I got you down for Tamiya Ausf N.  It looks pretty good!   I have Dragon kit but will wait and see which Ausf is still open after the GB rolls out so I can order one.

I've just ordered my Panzer III N as my kit stash is looking pretty meagre now that the StuG is nearly done and the box gone. All I have left now is the Dragon Firefly but that's not a bad kit to be the only one left in the stash!

I'll want some Friuls but no rush for them and at least I haven't got to worry about sourcing an AM barrel. I might even try MK tracks for once on this Panzer III?

I'm looking forward to this GB - it should be fun!

Oh Hell yeah!  I'm in!

I'll give it a shot.  I'll do either a late model Panzer or a StuG III either in 1/35th by Tamiya.

I'll do a 1/35th Panzer III L with the 50mm gun by Tamiya.

All I've got to do is start and complete my Maus for the Odd Animals GB.

Count me in Andy,the long timeframe is great,I can start later this year and still have plenty of time.Either my old DML "G" or the new smart kit "H" will be my entry.

This is looking great so far!!! 

Satch ip-  I have you on my list.  Just let me know which model you want to build.  Great to have you back! 

Mike- Glad you are joining aboard... now this is going to be FUN too!  I got you down for Ausf L.  We have plenty of time for you to finish your current GB.  I'd even let you paint #229 on your Panzer III...

Anthony-  Why was I not surprised that you'd be with us?   Am so glad you are!  Just let me know which Ausf G or H.  We can always wait and see what others have then you will pick one that is still open.  Yes, I like when GBs last for a full year just like Korea War and Ostfront GBs... remember I build at very slow pace.

Actually, I was thinking "229" for the Maus.  It is basically a "papre Panzer" afteralll.

I'd love to, but i'd probably not get it done. I do have the old G in the stash, but was hoping for a new smart kit since Dragon appears to be upgrading all their older kits.

I will follow with the interest of kid on Christmas Eve.

Andy-I'll be following this one closely.  Given the longer time frame, I should be able to sign up but I don't want to commit until I'm sure.  Hopefully I'll have things completed by fall and can jump in.

I have never done a GB. My skill levels are just so-so. Do I pick a kit, build it, show wip photos? I would like to try it. I just have to find the right kit and then I let you know what I'm building, right?

My research indicates that a Panzer III L from the 10th Panzer Division DAF will be historically accurate.  Your start time provides plenty of time to gather paint, etc.

Hit up anyone for a GB badge yet?  My Photoshop skills are even worse than my modeling skills (if that can be imagined), so I can't help with that.

I admit that I'd like to do an Afrika Korps vehicle and this among the best in the stash. Let me think about it sir and I'll get back to you.

I always tentatively commit to group builds but never follow through, but now things should actually settle down over the Summer.... it'd also give me a reason to build a Panzer III to go with my German section (have Panzer IV through King Tiger).

I would be interested, I'm totally converted to armor and I think I'll have the time.

WOW!  This is looking great... safe to say there is plenty of interest.  OK, I will post official Panzer III GB later this week as we still have two months to place orders or do research like I like to. 

Bob- You are always welcome to jump anytime! 

Chazzer- Your skill levels really doesn't matter to me... having fun modeling is what really counts.  Everybody does different in GBs... some do WIPs while others don't until the end.  We all love to see the process so posting more pictures would be great. Yes you get to pick the kit you want to build as long as it fits the goal. 

Scott- Awesome!!! That Tamiya 1/48 should be fun to watch...

Mike-  No badge yet... but already have one in mind and I am going to ask my beloved wife to help because she is pretty good at Photoshop.  Heck, I gave her Photoshop for Christmas because she wanted it.  Too romantic?   Funny I was thinking about doing DAF thing too...

This one is pretty old and dates back to the early(?) 70's. It's been long discontinued.

But there is another... Again, it is more than likely discontinued, but I come across it now and then even here in Australia. Dragon's Ausf.M/N (#9015) in their Imperial series which may also be found in a Revell reboxing.

EDIT: I believe there are several CyberHobby releases of Ausf.M variants too.

That's why I think I'm loving armor so much, there is a great deal of variety. That and the scale, 1/35 is perfect. When I go back to dabble with aircraft I think I'll have to do 1/32.

I might have to do a Stug, I love tank destroyers. I just finished up my last build so I might use the time from now to June to build an Allied destroyer to go with it... oh the possibilities. That's why I think I'm loving armor so much, there is a great deal of variety. That and the scale, 1/35 is perfect. When I go back to dabble with aircraft I think I'll have to do 1/32.

You know, I've been finding 1/32 aircraft a lot more fun than 1/48. Working on a 1/48 ICM LaGG-3 right now, and I'm just having a really hard time getting excited about it. 

There are a few exceptions, of course. Tamiya's Mustangs are world's better than any being offered in 1/32. Same with their Corsairs. I hope maybe they'll get over their Spitfire obsession soon and bring us something else in 1/32 shortly.

Deafpanzer, Just a quick question(stupid?) Just to make sure, this is a group build and will be followed and posted in GB?

Chazzer- It will be posted in GB forum.  It is a feeler so It was posted here in Armor.  For sure we will do the Panzer III GB and I will start a new post in GB later this week.

Am I to understand that once someone declares they want to build a particular variant,then only one person will build that particular one ? If that is the case,my 1st choice would be te G,if you award it to someone else,then I will do the H .
