Its been a while sense I posted any work here.
In 2009 I built this DML kit for a AFV contest held in Calgary, Alberta. Canada. Judged using a IPMS format the Panzer IV earned a silver metal.
I have never posted this build online, nor submitted its image to the magazine. Hope its worthy!
* About the tank:
The 75mm L/20 gun is scratch built as is the shroud under it for the water proof cover. Scratch antenna & MG's. Additional armor plate detail was highlighted & deepened with a hobby saw.
Base is solid stainless steel, cut on a machinists band saw from lathe stock. Markings are done with metal welder's identification stamps. Background is rock that seemed appropriate for the North African desert.
* Left out one tiny bit of information, will check back to see who picks up on that detail.

It's 1/144 scale isn't it?
Kinda short for an L/70 75mm KwK.

Yes good job Phil_H!
Tanks for checking out the post. Had to get something back on the forum, not that I am in a slump more like life & lack of a dedicated building area have interrupted the building.
Also the model was 3000 miles away. Last trip out west decided bring the Panzer IV & two other completed models out East to enter in a up coming contest on May 28. The other two suffered damage from the ex, not transportation and need to be repaired before then.
MAJ Mike Kinda short for an L/70 75mm KwK.
Oops!
I meant L/20! Just like its stamped on the base! I edited the original post, tanks for pointing the error out MAJ Mike!
I know. My greatest skill is making snarky comments from the back of the room.
Beautiful rendition of one of my favorite German panzers!
