They're dipping into the esoteric stuff now; low bustle turret with a large hatch hull.

Hmmmm....I've got so much parts in the scrap-box, that I can probably build this one out of "nothing".

I was planning a similar project to match the Sherman left at Keyes Park on Ft. Knox with the banana peel barrel. You're right though, most of this kit can be built with spare parts leftover from previous Dragon boxings.

Well: the fact that the artist makes the error of placing the turret roof spot lamp lens at the end of the sheet metal shroud rather than inside of it -- doesn't elicit squeals of joy from me.  He must have used as his model subject somebody's inaccurate model build.

Oh boy! Another Sherman. And people say they're tired of Tigers. Hmm

I just looked over the CAD drawings: it appears that the turret has the high bustle rather than what's on the artwork. GOOD!

I don't criticize them for spitting out this kit -- the basic components are already cut and made.  It sure doesn't seem to diminish their ability to put out other kits, now does it?  Didja see that Ka Mi amphibious tank or the Mercedes G4?  Wow.  In injection plastic. Who woulda thought that?

Yes, how about a newly tooled M-24 Chaffee? This has been on many want lists for some time. I'll go out on a limb, and say that AFV Club will be the first out of the gate with one. Seems to fit them to a tee.

Another sherman because they can easily grab their already existing molds and just change something, or mix the parts around, same with tigers and panzers and whatnot.  I personally am STILL waiting for a Tetrarch tank.

Historically, you can't beat the Sherman with all its numbers and guises but, as a scale modeler/hacker, I'd never go near building one (at least publically) as I'd be afraid that I (or it) would have at least one bolt out of place. The only Sherman that I had considered building was their M4A3E8 (of many years ago) and that was a huge disappointment and I'm glad that I didn't cough up the dough for that version and won't be coughing up the dough for this one either.

And to all the Shermanaholics, it is good to know that you are out there.

Thanks,
Kevin Keefe
