You can, but you might have to modify the PE to suit the kit. The premium edition kits have pretty much everything you need in the box. Detail is usually not necessary.

Conventional wisdom says no, but some items are more problematic than others, fenders would probably be a bad fit from kit to kit, while trash screens and tool holders would go okay. Try http://www.spruebrothers.com they have a good selection of AM detail sets and in my experience they have outstanding customer service.

Generally speaking yes you can use PE meant for one brand of kit on a different one. You may have to do a bit of trimming either of the PE or kit. And of course where it might say the PE is to replace a certain part, your kits part numbers will be different.

Have you tried Sprue Brothers. Though i am in the UK i have bouhgt from these a few times, though not PE. I would deffinatly recommend.

Most kits can be built up well OOB, and thats coming from an AM freak. But ye, their premium kits deffo don't need any extra.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

For the most part, photo etch made for one company's kit can not be used for another company's kit. There are exceptions, most obviously in case of reboxes. For instance, an Eduard PE set for the DML T-72 could be used on the kits reboxed by Revell or Zvezda.

But usually, PE is made for a specific manufacturer's kit and because of major and minor differences, normally can't be used to their fullest.

If you are having troubles, try ordering from squadron.com or spruebrothers.com

Very good companies.

Brand to brand, sometime you can and sometimes you can't. I buy my PE where ever I can find it,no one carries all PE brands.

The Dragon Smart Kits are really great for that OOB detail. Tracks are another matter, depends on what you prefer, indy links or rubber bands.

I shop at those two most of the time.

Can you use photo meant for one kit brand on another. Also does any one have suggestions on where to order from. So far I'm using squadron but they are limited. I tried rollmodels but service wasn't great. I can't figure out how to order from dragon usa. And it seems that most are uk web sites. I'm seeing all this new crazy stuff but can't get ahold of it. Oh and I tried to order from the barrel store but they never responded back. Its mainly all the extra detail stuff I'm after. Is there no such thing as a one stop shop. Also. I'm wanting to try a dragon premium kit. Is it true these are great out the box or is a detail set needed as well.
