Roughly a 1000 mile one way trip. Even with my nephew's graduation at Boston College High School, I don't think I'll be making the trip up to my sister's in Marshfield. Haven't been in Mass. since I left in January 2005.

Dupes look here for more info and some pics of the "wedgies". Basically it's a cut / slice of a tank. What Steve of Celticwerks has done is made his own E-25 wedgie. In the case of the E-25, it's more a sinkie. It depicts an E-25 partially submerged in water. Each participant gets one to play around with the weathering....and you get to keep it ( and a Joe Farina base as well).

As Boyd mentioned there is a very wide selection of German beers. Six are on tap and the rest are bottled beers. The food will be a hot German lunch...brats, sauerkraut etc...

I was fortunate enough to attend the even in February and have already reserved my seat for June. This is a GREAT time and a real good chance to actually 'learn while doing'. If you can make it, you will NOT be disappointed!
The food ain't too bad either. And then there is the whole line-up of German beers...
Back in February I held a hands on workshop on rusting, and now our model club will be hosting a similar event. Unlike demo's that are given during model shows, this workshop will be a stress free day with like minded people who enjoy the hobby.

On June 25th,2011 AMPS Nordland is hosting a modelling seminar featuring AK Interactive and Joe Farina Enterprises. The event will be held in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA.Iain Hamilton of AK Interactive USA and Joe Farina of Joe Farina Enterprises will provide "hands-on" instruction. Topics include finishing Joe Farina Bases and the use of AK Interactive products for weathering.Each participant will receive a Joe Farina Enterprises base and a Celticwerks "wedgie" which will be finished using Vallejo Paints and AK Interactive weathering products- under the direction of a couple of master modelers.Cost for the event will be $45 and includes everything you need except paint brushes and beer money. Authentic German lunch will be provided, coffee and donuts for breakfast.
