Levi - there's numerous ways to create mud. Here's one that I have used.
Mix putty, brown paint, white glue, assorted bits of course material (I hear coffee grounds work), and bits of hair in a small bowl. Apply to the areas that you want the mud to be. allow it to dry. Dry brush with a lighter brown. Then dust the mud and the vehicle with ground pastel chalks.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

Blitzer, Its more a process of experimentation...(on something other than your new project Big Smile [:D]) than anything else... Just be patient and specific with your application. Think about where it would fall and where it would be knocked off. As for a mixture Shermanfreaks is real good and its similar to the mess I used...(plaster, paint, glue, herbs.) Like said in my other post, It seems the hardest thing to do is get the mud "in scale" A lot of times peoples mud looks more like 1:1 mud rather than 1:35... Good luck...
