I've been busy with a lot of things lately, but still managing to get modeling time in, and thought I'd put up a few pics of what I've been doing. Nothing fancy, a couple that havebben up before as "almost finished" and a couple new. Thanks for looking!
Apprentice rivet counter.
Very nice, particularly like the King Tiger and British Shermie...
Very nice builds!!
Building- (All 1/48) F-14A Tomcat, F-16C Blk 30, He 129
Sweet. I like the way you didn't over-do the weathering, mud, and rust. Especially like the M-60.

"Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc!"
That's progress! I couldn't build that many in 3 years. LOL
I too love that King Tiger. Did you do your own zimmerit?
Eric
Great stuff RB,,,, thanks for sharing
A+
Enjoy the ride!
Thanks, all. Some of these have been in progress for a year or more........
The zim on the Tiger is milliput for the most part. I used a hot knife on the mantlet, turret front and rear, and rear plate.
Great stuff. This is my favorite.... hope to see more of this.
Andy
They came out great I like the zimmerite coat... well done!

I agree with disaster! That is awesome! Very nice work!
Thanks for stopping back to post some pictures.
Its a refreshing to see the forums on topic & subject!
Unfortunately some are having issues rooted deeper than modeling problems and have chose the forum to share with everyone.
Your model tanks all look great,
Tanks again!
Jason
The zimmerit job is awesome. You did it with milliput and a hot knife. Can you explain how? I'm not experienced with it but would still like to know. Amazing!
It looks like alot of work

Thanks, all, you're too kind.
I have actually been pretty busy, having had a change of careers that gives me a couple of hours modeling time most mornings. It also keeps me off the internet for several days at a time, so forgive my late responses, please.
Chazzer, the Tiger's zim was done with milliput on the large flat surfaces, but I used a hot knife on the areas where I was reluctant to try to form the putty around and between details, those being the front of the turret, mantlet and rear access door, and the rear hull plate. In retrospect, I feel my knife was TOO hot, as the zim is a little deep, making the mantlet especially look too "small". It was my first attempt at zim on a real model though, so I'm not unhappy with it. It actually was fun doing something German, enough that I have a very late TigerII in progress, using the ancient Tamiya kit that has been on the shelf for quite a number of years.........
Never tried myself yet using wood filler seems like a good medium for zim.
Its water soluble and 'chips' as the adhesion to the surface is not strong. Read about the technique in FSM.
I have the vintage Tamiya Tiger I in stash out west, will try the wood filler on it one day...
RBaer, they all look great!
I must agree with Manny, on faves though.

Thank you, sir. :) I like the camo on your "what-if" also. I have a semi- "what-if" TigerII on the bench, may copy it......
