The kit is #1394 . Ok i'm ready to hear how this kit stands up for accuracy , ease of assembly and understanding the assembly instructions .

Yes

Overall it is a very good build. The only accuracy complint Ihave is regarding the type of tracks supplied. Photos show they are of a type rarely fitted to the M12. It assembles easily enough for such a complicated looking vehicle. The only weak spot to watch out for in construction is the puleys on the system for the recoil spade. Mine kept breaking so I replaced them with bent brass wire.

I placed third in the Advanced catagory at my Local IPMS Chapter in 2009.

As above, nice kit, builds well,

Gino commented in his build, after I built mine  that the barrel isn't long enough, but a Sherman wheel is about right for length & width to extend it.

The aftermarket barrel I used (can't remember brand) duplicated the length of the plastic barrel, so wasn't any better.

Actually, the M12 barrel is correct.  The M40 GMC barrel is too short, by the length of 2 Sherman roadwheels.  The M12 is a very nice kit.   I highly recommend it.

I'd love to know what they're getting those kits for wholesale, they can't be marking them up too much. Like I said my buddy picked up the new Revell 1/32 Arado from them for 19.95. Hell, they have the Airfix 1/24 Mosquito for $112!

Maybe they do it to bring in business for the rest of the store ? At least they have a good selection of Dragon and Academy now !

I thought of that, but it's an awfully niche market for a general store. Oh well, they'll continue to get my business. Good people and good prices, win/win.

Yes, the M59 Long Tom also has the short cradle and can be fixed in the same manner.  Here is my M40 build that shows how to fix it.

Yep, the White Elephant, pretty sure they have a website and I'm pretty sure it's awful (as in just promo, no ordering). We're kind of lucky, their kit selection has really fleshed out over the last year and like we we saying, dirt cheap.

Perfect kind of store for Eastern Washington, we're notoriously cheap. The kind of place you can buy a model and grab some ammo on the way out. Love it.

It is a tongue in cheek reply, although the kit gets high marks, there aren't many M12 SPGs in plastic. I believe just a Fujimi/Nitto 1/76 scale kit, Esci 1/72 scale kit, and a Bandai 1/48 scale kit round out the competitors with the next newest kit being about 35 yrs old.
