Why would they put out a kit that costs twice what the Soar Art kit costs? And eight figures on a Dora are going to be come lost pretty quickly. This whole thing just doesn't make sense to me.

I can only think of a former forum member who would have a hard time getting this by the Mrs. After all he panicked about a kit 1/5 this one's price! Surprise

Well, it HAS been done. Check this: http://arquivo.modelismo-na.net/viewtopic.php?t=5747&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

And someone else was equally crazy.

Just look a the size of the BOX! (That tank is in the same scale, 1:35.)

Besides price, is there a difference between the Soar Art and the Dragon?

Are they the same models?

This is a Aoshima Model and it's a pre-order from Dragon.

Here's another part, a set with 8 figures.

I see. Thanks.

I think I'll just settle for the Soar Art. Without figures... which, judging by the price, must be Sterling Silver.

Is Manny still giving out Hen-Pecked Awards?

Looks to me like extras should be awarded.......Whistling

Is that kit available on layaway?

Say, for instance, 20 years of payments?

There was a time, albeit a short one, when I actively considered getting the Soar Art kit when it came out and was running in the $700 range. No way I would shell out over $1k for a kit, even one as big as the Dora, but I do admit that it's got a "massive" look that is very appealing if you've a) got the funds and b) the space to actually build and display it. Besides the cost, I do not have a spare room to one build it and two keep it after it is finished.

Just in case anyone is wondering the finished model would be:

53.2" L  X  8" W  X  13.1" H

NOW THAT'S BIG!!!

BTW, most of the length not surprisingly is account for by the barrel.

See ya

Its impressive, but over priced i think.  You can get a 1/72 kit of this baby through Hobby Boss for a little over $200.00 bucks.
