Tamiya T-55 color
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, March 8, 2003 8:49 PM
I reciently built the tamiya T-55a, which is awesome, but I cannot get the paint thing wright. I used the model masters enamel russian armor green. It looked too blue-green, for the drabby color the box and photos have shown. Does anybody know of a good color to use?

I used model master 1710(I think this is the right number) dark green on a JS-3 I built last year.Maybe that'll do the trick.

hi , sorry to say but russian green is not a colour you can match , i have photos of 100's of t 72 tanks parked up and there must be over 20 shades of green , it all depends on the paint maker and how it was mixed and more importantly with what , petrol , water, river water all make differenace , i remember what one of the masters of model making always quoteds and it still applies to this day , The light you paint is is not the light it is judged in . So please do not get hung up on colours , we all see them in different hues . cheers ian
