Armor painting question
Posted by Echo139er on Sunday, July 3, 2011 12:54 PM

First, I have never build armor before.  After attending SOONERCON and looking at all the options for a "first" armor build, I decided to use the SU-85 as a starting point.

I've have most of the kit put together with the exception of the wheels, tracks and misc tools, and tanks.  My question lies with the, what appear to be metal, tool boxes and fuel tanks out on deck.

Do i glue those in place for the priming and painting of the tank?  Is it better to paint them separately then glued on?  Any help with the paint order of armor is greatly appreciated.

by the way... I am planning on painting my tank like this one I found (on eBay).

Yes, I would construct as much as possible of the base color, and those items fall into that catagory.
