Some folks like to pre shade with black overall, then paint all other colors on as needed. Others prime everyting in gray or red primer and then got to town... (not a bad idea when working on a multi media kit-brass resin etc.) I am not one of those. I like to paint things as they would be in full size, the camo colors, any trim colors, then weathering. In the case of the Panther, a base of Dark Yellow, then any camo pattern colors, followed by the trim colors on tools, road wheel tires, tracks, tools, machine guns, etc. Good luck to you and have fun.
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
