It depends.  Usually the casting is good and the models themselves are generally accurate.  Other times, one sees inaccuracies -- if it's a matter of scratchbuilding or starting from an Azimut base, I think I'd take the latter option.  Maybe go onto ML and see if anyone has experience with the specific kit you're hoping to acquire.

I have only built the ADV/Azimut MO-120 RT-61 120mm mortar and can only say that generally, it was a nice kit to build. The resin can be fragile in areas, having to add some styrene and wire here and there to replace little that was missing or what had broken somewhere along the line.

Is the Komsom a new kit? I hope that it isn't a knock-off from the ancient Toga kit.

Can't vouch for their recent quality but wouldn't hesitate if the subject was in my interest.

Thanks,

Can't really say myself. All I know is that they are spendy, but I've never seen anything built up here.

General quality of Azimut full kits??
Posted by Njal Thorgeirsson on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 8:06 PM

I'm sure many of you are aware there's a large sale at Greatmodels... Anyways I noticed an Azimut Komsomolets tractor/tankette for about $45, which is half off. I'm really interested in tankettes, and I've always wanted to build a Komsomolets, but I'm not willing to put a lot of scratchbuilding effort into it. What do you think the quality of this kit would be like? I'm willing to replace tools and latches and do some minor scratchbuilding and rivet-adding but beyond that I dont want to do any major modifications. Opinions?

Thank you for your advice!
