Ye, this has been on the crads for a while. Seems Trumperter are makeing the most of their E series kits, what with this and the Flak versions of the 50 and 75. All 3 added to my to buy list, i love those paper Panzers. Think this is the first ever kit of this.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Doesn't it scream "Jagd", rather then StuG?

All depends on interpretation...a StuG was an assault gun (SP armored artillery piece) while the Jagd were armed with PaK weapons or modified KwK weapons. Since this one's mounting the 12.8cm artillery gun complete with the muzzle brake (vs. say the PaK/KwK version in the Jagdtiger), the StuG designation fits from that technical aspect. Have to agree though that when you look at it, the design screams "Jagd" and not "StuG" to me! Big Smile

very cool kit...eventhough I'm more of a aircraft builder, I've always had a soft spot for German armor....

to me the scream is more like....."GET OUT OF ITS WAY" Surprise

I have never built Trumpeter armor, how are their rubber tracks as compared to DML DS tracks ? do the Trumpeter ones glue together,or must they be melted ?

IDK. In my KV I kit, you had the option of one-piece or link-and-lengths. I opted for the latter, because they already included a long sagged top-run.

Personally i wouldn't normally use rubber-band tracks for those that would require a sag.

Wasn't the 12.8 cm the same gun used in the Jagdtiger?  After reading Otto Carius' book I now have a very dim view of the weapons systems that used it.  Carius was forced to transition from Tigers to Jagdtigers just before the war's end and he said every time the main gun fired it knocked the stereoscopic range finders out of alignment making the whole system worthless.  I can't help but thinking this paper panzer would have suffered the same fate as the problem of better shock mounting of the sighting system was never addressed.  Carius stated that he would rather have had one early Tiger than a platoon of Jagdtigers.
