I've been working on this Bronco kit (CB35027). When I opened the box, I saw the very small indies, and thought, "That's gonna be a pain, but I can handle it." WRONG! Their microscopic size and funky configuration are EXTREMELY DIFFUCULT to work with. I worked on linking 2 outer links and 1 inner link for 30 minutes! There aint no way I can endure that kind of torture for the whole set.
What I'd like to ask the gang: Does anyone make a "rubber band style" track for this 1/35 scale tank? Any ohter options?
The Bronco kit is the only game in town for this particular vehicle unfortunately and any AM-type track that you find for it will be the indy-link type (either metal such as Fruils or styrene) as a result. Sorry to hear that their assembly is torturing you!

The other version of this tank, A13 Mk.I/Cruiser Tank Mk.III came with vinyl tracks. Find someone who has the earlier version and wants individual tracks and swap with them.http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/bronco/cb35025.html
Man that sucks. I concur that small indies must be difficult to work with.

I am building one of these now with the individual links. I don't find them to be that bad, althougth they are small. The first releases with the one piece track of these kits the tracks are too short, so the individual links is your only option.
Yes, they are possibly the smallest link to link track I've ever dealt with. I can usually knock out a "normal " set of link to link in about 2 hours, less if it's magic track. The A-13 took me around 6 hours or more. It was a while ago. I had to buy a set of Broncos link to link as the kit vinyl tracks were too short. I really wanted this model to get built, so I just accepted the fact it was going to be tedious and sat down to do it. Although not all at once. Took a few days working a bit at a time. However, to get the tracks around the drive sprockets and idlers had to be done in one sitting. Good luck. It will be worth it.
By the way, I almost went on line to complain. This was a couple of years ago, right after the kit came out. I have purchased the "desert" version as well with the link to link, and am not looking forward to building the tracks again. Someday....

That's good information to have.
Dood, I checked the contents of my kit and you are right, they're really small. But I think that choosing between this and other metal tracks, this will be the easier of the two. What I do with individual tracks is I put them together while I'm building the kit. I put together a few tracks at a time while I'm cementing parts of the tank. This prevents me from being bored from the continous task of track assembly. Try it, it works for me.
Sounds like a plan, Constructor. I was so bummed to stop work on this kit, but I didn't throw it out. Everything is done except tracks, camo and weathering. I'll give it a whirl a little at a time to see if I get better at it.
I asppreciate the supporting comments, all.

The track supplied is a real pain . My solution has been to use the track from the Italeri/Revell Crusader kit which is very similar and plenty long enough .Apart from having picked up some kits very cheap ,I have also recycled the tracks from now redundant models . The track fits the sprockets and idlers of the A13 without problems . If you need to buy a Crusader its probably cheaper than buying metal track . May not suit the purist ,but the model gets built.
This one?
That's the one.Same kit has appeared in Revell and Italeri boxes, and I have one which has both trademarks on the same box. An oldie but still good (and cheap).
Perfect. Thanks.
