Albaneta Farm Sherman Memorial

I appreciate the creativiity of those who fashioned the cross out of the tracks making ot a more meaningful tribute.

Yes this is a great monument. I researched it and found about a dozen photos of both current and how it actually looked when it it was built. It has been badly vandalized over the years. I bought all the stuff to build it a few years ago. You may have spurred me on to start the project again! Thanks.

There's a pic and detailed caption in the Osprey book on Polish armor in WWII.

This is a memorial near Monte Cassino. The tank is T-152523 and this now forms a monument to the Polish 4th Skorpion Armoured Regiment.  The tank supposedly belonged to Lt. Bialecki.  It was today's topic of discussion on a Sherman listserv I receive daily.

Is this the exact spot where this Sherman got blown out? I can make out the turret on the right side of the picture. Where is the Albaneta Farm exactly?

Three problems:

1. This is the most readable image in the photo set.
   
2. The inscription is in Polish.
3. While I know a few words/phrases in Polish, I couldn’t read it even if I could stand with my nose against the metal.
