I will post pics, it's gonna be quite a while before I get to that point. Ironically, this went on sale last week, so I ordered a copy

Thx. I looked at Aberdeen's website, and there's another guy out there w/close to 100 pics that he took @ Aberdeen of the Leo, but alas, none show the engine compartment. A diesel engine sounds good, You read my mind w/the broken hydraulic lines and such, I was thinking the same thing, w/a bunch of oil and grease in the compartment. I may actually see if I can email them.

As far as it being bombed, yeah, I'm taking some historic/artistic license on that one. Thx again.

probably could hodge podge a deisel engine and a bunch of busted lines,ya know just something to fill the space since it is bombed out.the ABERDEEN PROVING GROUNDS in Maryland have the actual K5 on display perhaps they have a website or an address to contact and maybe they could provide you with the information you need.  as a side note not sure if the allies actually hit one of these buggers as they were buried in railroad tunnels when not on a fire mission, but hey its modeling and it sounds like a great idea to recycle an expensive kit.   P.S.  cats are great with BBQ sauce  LOL, have three in my house but they know better than to risk thier lives going near my models.  good luck and have fun

Need help on hydraulics/engine on a K5 Leopold
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, August 1, 2011 8:19 PM

I have a K5 Leopold that was involved in an accident with a cat. So, to make lemons outta lemonade(something like that) I am going to do a dio of a K5 that got hit by an aerial bomb, and was found a cpl months later by an allied team. I want damage at the back hydraulic/engine area, but I need spec's or pics on what would be in the compartment.

Thanks, and I will surely blog this later.
