I agree...

A big APC with a gaping rear and top hatch is always my first choice.

M-36 and M-10 TDs.  I did an M-36 Jackson several years ago with full interior and open engine compartment.  It's amazing how much detail you can pack into one of these.

Some of the opened-top vehicles such as the Hummel, Marders, Nashorn, have a lot of detail in the fighting compartments.

The M113. Old School Tamiya kit came with a complete, and fairly accurate interior for a Nam era Papa Chuck. While it needs some detailing to bring it up to modern standards, the old kit included the engine, transmission, interior and a removable roof to allow full view. I remember it not having a radio or radio rack, that's about it.

Academy issued a more accurate, but closely copied version of it later. I do not recall if the Academy's version had the removable roof or not.

When completed, it's almost like looking into a little shoe box with the lid off to see everything inside.

Academy M113A1 and A2 both have interior thrown in with separate roof including strap handles, and offered link and length tracks in addition to a better vinyl set with detail on the inside of the tracks.  I agree that those and the Bradleys would make great interior super detailing projects.

Personally, I'm partial to StuGs with full interior. Especially StuG. IIIs, however, I don't think it's the best for showing off the interior.

So, I'll echo t26... Halftrack all the way.

M7 Priest,Marder both have open tops

Half tracks.  Frankly a fully kitted half track is much more complex than a closed tank where you can only peer through the hatches or the open engine deck.  Do a DML M3A1 halftrack -- and super detail it.  To me, it's much more impressive than a resin drop in kit you'd put into a DML Pz III or Panther.
