Ranchhand

I baught the same and they do look good. One day I'll get to the kit, I'm hopeing next week to be honest. The build of the tracks looks right to me and your look very goos. I know the price is a pain but when you think how much metal is in there compaired to Fruils they probablu work out less per link.

Good luck in your build on this one

Phil

tracks came from china, no inner box at all. opened the box and out popped three zip-lock bags of tracks and some wire, so no fancy art work to look at and NO instructions (BOOO right there, but this shouldn't be too tough)

the tracks are not handed, but they do come in three components per track.

Each component in its own bag.

here is an "exploded view" of the tracks ready for assembly.

there is the main track pad, a center piece and end "tabs"

Here is a run assembled, I am getting conflicting reference on what way the tiny tabs go, this looks right to me, if not prove me wrong please :)

they fit the trumpeter sprockets great:

Assembly was very straight forward. I did not use the length of wire they provided, instead using straight brass wire cut the correct length. Unlike Friuls these do not have a "closed" end and an "open end" for the wire, so the wire will need to be trimmed on both sides. I cut my wire exactly to length (a bit short to keep it from poking out the ends) I did not need to drill out the tracks pieces at all.

The quality of casting on these tracks is excellent, easily on par with the best I have seen from friul. I found some flash but nothing to be concerned with.

these where not cheap, about $52 shipped, but they are some pretty hefty hunks of metal :)

They are the only game in town if you want metal links for the E-100, but are worth it for that heavy look.

Just an update, Spade Ace is making E-100 tracks!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spade-Ace-1-35-Metal-Track-E-100-Super-Heavy-Tank-/170692063715?pt=UK_ToysGames_ModelKits_ModelKits_JN&hash=item27be0a31e3#ht_500wt_1413

I just ordered a set, and they are already marked as shipped. Ill report back once they arrive.

I plan on using them on trumpeters new E-100 tank destroyer.

FYI I have never ordered form this seller, so this is not an endorsment (yet)

Trying to do too much at once I got them crossed over with the suspension set they do for the E-100 which I saw at £14.00 (its a working set  too). Cant seem to find the tracks anywhere at the moment, Pade Ace do a set which look right at £32 (about $50 I'd guess) which may be an option now.

Put a link to the suspension below if you want it

Not seen the other e-100 but the tracks look right and for the cost it may be worth the risk to get them and see. I'd guess the tub/running gear would be the same cant see why trumpeter would change it ( bet I get proved wrong there!)

Looking at prices they are way lower than Fruils etc so will probably give them a go

Tried them this weekend and they dont fit right, so looks like it will have to be other aftermarket ones. Only ones I've seen that look right are the Spade Ace ones, not seen any Fruils that look right

Those tracks look similar to those on a Tiger II. But i guess this would be to long to use Tiger II Fruils.

So this bad boy arrived today and as requested some pics as info. Sorry for he quality but only have time to use my phone for them

Fist one shows it next to a King Tiger I'm working on to give you some scale

[View:/themes/fsm/utility/Photobucket:550:0]

Next side by side

[View:/themes/fsm/utility/Photobucket:550:0]

Box next to the Tiger 17cm Kanone 72 I have in the stash[View:/themes/fsm/utility/Photobucket:550:0]

Finally the tracks next to those for the Tiger Kanone - which I may use to replace the band ones

[View:/themes/fsm/utility/Photobucket:550:0]

Over all I'd say its smaller than the Tiger Kanone but the barrel looks the same just shorter. If I ever get round to building this I'mm drop some better pictures for you all

mitch, be interesting to get a look at this when you get hold of it. I will get it, but not just yet. I'd also like to get the E-50 and 75 Flak versions, but they will have to wait as well. The E-50 and 75 tracks can be replaced with Tiger II tracks, so not sure about the E-100 chassis. I will have to compare my Dragon E-100 to a set of Tiger II tracks.

I have it on order now so when it arrives I'll compair it to the Tiger 17cm Kanone 72 I have from Trumpeter as I think at least the barrel looks the same. If the tracks are the same (which it looks like they could be) Fruil make a set for the Tiger 17cm so I'll get them to give it a bit more weight!

On the "Stug" version I remember seeing this advertised as a "Stug" the first time I saw it and even seen it called "Salamadar" which is a pretty crap name for something this big - still they called the other super heavy the "Mouse" so it may be the German sense of humour

I am not sure if i read it right, but i am sure they are also bringing out an E-100 StuG. They could have got it confused and its the same kit, but i am positive its on the same site. But Hannants on;ly has the Jagdpanzer

tigerman

I agree, I think it's pretty cool. I'm really surprised that Trumpeter still puts out one-piece vinyl tracks.

The odd thing is, the E-10 and 25 come with both vinyl and indy link tracks. I was surprised to see that the E-50 and 75 didn't.
