And,,,, you bet, Saki for my friend please, and be sure it is served at the proper temperature, 98.4 degrees

15 years ago? WOW! I was single and free... Realizing you built it many moons ago I would leave the chain as reminder how much we have learned or modeling has changed over years.
Be sure to save me some saki, promise?

Yes, i made the trees.... basically they are sized sticks and I wrapped them with white glue / cheesecloth. I then thinned out some Milliput and slathered it on randomly,, just to break up the cheesecloth pattern a bit. I think what I would do the next time would be to use some thinned Durhams water putty. That would probably work better. Then I ripped apart the tops to give the effect of artillery or shipboard shell blasts.
And, you are absolutely correct on the chain. It is out of scale a bit and probably not period correct.... This build is more than 15+ years old. It would be very easy to remove it but,, I have a problem (sometimes) correcting older builds. I like to keep them, for the most part, intact as reminders of where I was then, and where I am now.... Sure, my older efforts have more flaws,,, but (for me) they serve as what not to do on my current project(s). (weird,,, I know)
Bill- Always looking good! I REALLY dig the trees... Did you make those trees? Nice work on the figure too! Don't tell me his canteen is filled with ... that's against the army regulations!
I only have one feeback... I am not too sure about the chain in the rear for two reasons. Not sure if it is in the right scale and I thought Americans didn't use chain... just steel cables. BUT I may be wrong... often I see chains on French armor.

Took a little building break and was able to get some shots of an older effort. Tamiya's good ole M3 Stuart. I did a little fine tuning here and there, but for the most part it is OOB. I tied down a few stores onto the back deck, painted with Polly S and Tamiya acrylics,, a little pastel weathering too. The fig is an Italeri Marine,,, Celluclay groundwork, scratchbuilt palm trees (what is left of them anyway)... and lots of debris along with some Japanese souvenirs lying about.
