Zvezda 4500 Maultier (Finished)
Posted by K-dawg on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 7:23 AM

This kit was a LONG time in the making. It was an easy build for the most part and a great kit, I just couldn't get motivated on it. But anyway, She's done!

After getting to work and uploading the pictures I noticed that I need to throw another flat coat on the tarp. I've been using it as a handle so the edges are shiny from touching it. I'll take care of that the next time I have the Air Brush out.

Thanks for looking and as always, comments are welcome.

Nice Mule Kenneth! The tarp in particular is very well done, what did you use for it? Beer

Bill, the tarp came with the kit. It's 5 pieces of plastic... :)

Thanks fellas...

Oddly the pictures show the colors much more yellow than they actually are. I white balance my camera before every session and it's spot on as far as the back drop goes but this new camera I have seems to have an affinity for yellow tones in the paint. Oh well... I'll figure that out later. Point is, the dark yellow is much more tan in color than it appears here.

O, very nice build. I am looking at get one of these to go with my Sturmtiger. Nice to see one built up. Is the rear detailed enough to have the tarp off.

It looks like a Pz II with a set of wheels. LOL

Another nice build Kenneth and something a bit different.

Bish, Yes it is. The wood grain is fantastic and there are NO sink marks or knock out marks on the inside surfaces.

Very nice work Kenneth on the canvas cover...would never have guessed it started out as 5 pieces of styrene. Beer Beer

Besides being 5 pieces, I put it together wrong (not hard to do actually) so there is massive amounts of put on each end of it as well. You have to be very careful about the orientation of the bedsides and the tarp sides. They're identical matches either way but the ends that meet the front and back sections of the tarp are different. I got the sides backward and had to modify (fill and sand) the ends to match. It was a lot of work.

Very, very nice K-dawg. I just got this kit from Squadron, so I'll definitely keep your advice about the tarp orientation in mind. I had read that there is a nice engine included, and from your pics this seems to be true. Nice touch leaving off the hood panels.
