Very true, though I'll build it some day. Just another problem with expensive kits is I tend to put them off because after spending that much money I want them perfect and am afraid I'll end up screwing them up.

I suppose you can tell from my avatar that if it's Japanese I'll probably end up buying it. And the Ka-MI is such a unusual and odd design I had to have one.

If you never do get to it, it's one of those kits that you will be able to "flip" in a few years. Undoubtfully, it will go for crazy money when the current run dries up and folks who had to have it but couldn't find or afford it now have the means to acquire one later. I've always been a fan of IJA armor and "primitive" armor of the 30s and 40s, back before countries knew what worked with tanks.

I don't see it as that. FSM's latest issue lists the non-pontoon as $63 MSRP. Squadron.com carries the non-pontoon one at $53 (before shipping). My LHS carried the non-pontoon one at $56 before IPMS discount (10%) and sales tax (6%).

I paid around $75 and change for the pontoon version delivered. Less than $20 difference between the non-pontoon and the pontooned one. Plus I got a free Concord book for ordering (random title, mine was OIF Road to Baghdad worth about $15).

Sorry, I paid about the same so I guess the pontoons were closer to around twenty- yeah, my mistake. Just that I'm a cheap ******* and this is the most I've ever paid for a tank kit.

Rob if you do go ahead with yours I'd love to see it. Between you and Constructor it would be nice to know what problems to watch out for ahead of time,

Fedex man dropped off my Cyber Hobby Ka-Mi yesterday. Might have to push off the Tamiya 1/48 scale panzers and the old Italeri Pz IV & Pz I command tank I've been tinkering with.

Not bad turn around time; I pre-ordered it mid-September and it arrived November 1st.

Only seen your post Rob when I went over to Constructors thread.... Silly me. I might try scratchbuilding a set of pontoons they look easy enough and the advertisement shows enough detail to work out what is needed.
