What do you want to build?
Posted by wipw on Thursday, January 29, 2004 12:47 PM
Okay, As inspired by the ""2 or 3 kits ahead" thread...

What (in existance) armor kits, that you don't yet have, are you just "aching" to have/build?

For me:

DML Hummel
DML Nashorn (early)
Tamiya Tiger I (initial)
Tamiya King Tiger
any Sherman! (YEA, Robert!!!)
Academy Stewart or Grant

This should be interesting!! (Remember, you can't have the kit (or have it on order), yet!

I'd like to see the static model of the 1/16 scale M26 Pershing come out. Other than that, when a kit comes out that I really want, I usually bite the bullet and get it. That way I'm not moping around when it's OOP. Sometimes, if it's a kit I really like and have been waiting a LONG time for, I'll buy more than one... M3A3 Stuart.

Much like Ron, if I want a kit, I just go out and buy it. Doesn't necessarily mean I will build it though.

Having said that, I would like one of the DML Jadgtigers or the Ironside M-67 Flame Tank. I just never got around to buying either of those two kits.

Big Tamiya Pershing. I just don't know if I can commit. Too much money, so much time and effort, then I would crash the thing into a table and all the pieces would come off, or some little electrical connection would not work and I would not have the heart to tear the thing apart looking for the problem.

Also one of those ICM Russian "land battleship" tanks. Those things are cool.

Trumpeter K5.

Accurate Armour new Challenger II, but it's too expensive. Also their power shovel, which is COOL COOL COOL, but same observation applies.

Me too, but are you guys gonna put wheels on the bottom of the thing or something? Laugh [(-D]

Sherman gunner to tank commander: "sir, I know we finally figured out how to outmaneuver the big German panzers, but I've just spotted a grave new threat. It's coming our way, and it just fired a torpedo at us."

It's the German tank that can brag that it's driven by a U-boat engine, because it is a U-boat. Laugh [(-D]

Amen to that. Now that I might go in for. I have the static Henschel turm Tiger II. Well, it's kinda static. I think it putt-putts straight forward on its own.

I do that too, but I am a slow builder, and will often go a year (or more!) without building anything because I have other hobbies as well, so I have a ton of unbuilt kits.

Sometimes I think that buying kits is a hobby all its own.

Tamiya's 1/16 King Tiger Static Display (no, don't have it yet)

I also saw that Verlinden had a 120mm Sturmtiger (I think I saw it on eBay a while back) I'd like to try my hand at that too.

Any Sherman...
Elefant (have the newer DML kit just haven't built it yet!)
JagdPanther
Panther with the nitevision (is that an F?)
A 1/16th Steelwheeled Tiger I
Famo with the trailer
Dragon Wagon

And for some reason I've always had the itch to build a JadgTiger... dunno why.. maybe because its rare or maybe its because of the big gun. I saw a good article in FSM where someone took a 1/16 King Tiger and built it into a JagdTiger. It looked really nice. Now that I've mispelled JaggTiger 10 different ways I'll go back to sleep.

Well, if I can't have it on order or have it in stock, then I can't answer this question! Clown [:o)]Everything that I want to build in 1/72 scale is already built by me, or isn't made in 1/72 scale Kit form. The kits that nobody makes that I want to build are:

T-72 tank
M-26 Pershing
M-109 Paladin
LVTP-7

That about covers it for me. Cool [8D]

Hmmmmm, tastes aren't quite as rich as some of you but here goes...

1)Italeri Panzerwerfer 42 Rocket Launcher [a full armor half-track w/t rocket launcher!]

2) Hummer Bush Master

3) Tamiya quad Gun Tractor w/t gun/trailer

4) Any heavy armed and armored German Half-track

5) Tamiya Walker Bulldog [I like the profile.]

6)Tamiya or Italeri M-8 [I have the Italeri M-20]

7)Merkava Mark 3 or 4 [The later the model better. I like it because it's odd. Front engine and room for troops. Cool.]

8) BMP-1 or 2 [just a thought I have been toying with...]

Oooo, now that's a big list. I'll give you the abridged version.

M4 sherman
Leopard 1
Leopold rail gun (who doesn't?)
Matilda tank
Churchill
Another WWII german tank (I got heaps of figures and bits from my previous two german tanks. Don't know what I want yet, probably a panther)
A Pershing
Unimog truck
Humvee
Italeri's DUKW would be fun
P-47D razorback (I love this kick ****** looking plane!)
A6M2 Zero
Curtiss P-40B
Sopwith Camel
PBY Catalina
WWI E class sub (if I can find a kit or details to scratch build one)

To name but a few! I took the liberty of sticking to the military genre Big Smile [:D]
Can I put an airbrush and compressor down here, or is it strictly model kits?

Without a doubt, Tamiya's 1/16 Pershing.
I've been soooo close to buying it on several ocassions, but balked for one reason or another (generally financial!).
One day...oh, yes...one day, it will be mine!
